Terms of service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of app.taxsmithing.com (the “Service”), provided by Accent Financial Services (“Taxsmithing,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

The Service helps you organize your tax picture and provides educational tools, strategy ideas, calculators, and guides. It is a beta product and may change, and features may be added or removed.

2. Not professional advice

The Service provides general tax education and planning tools. It does not provide individualized tax, legal, accounting, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional who knows your full situation. Content and automatically generated ideas may be incomplete or may not fit your circumstances. Using the Service does not create an accountant-client, attorney-client, or advisory relationship. A professional relationship begins only under a separate written engagement. Always confirm anything before you act on it.

3. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is malicious.
• Attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the Service, or probe its security without authorization.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the information and documents you provide. You grant us the limited permission needed to host and process that content to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit.

6. Purchases

If you purchase a Taxsmithing product or service, payment is handled by our third-party processor (Stripe), and additional terms for that product may apply. Prices and offerings may change. We do not store your full payment card details.

7. Third-party links and services

The Service may link to third-party sites and tools (for example scheduling, payments, or reference sites). We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is subject to their terms.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its content, guides, branding, and software, is owned by Accent Financial Services or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own tax planning. Please do not copy or redistribute our materials without permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Accent Financial Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
